THAMES & NEWCASTLE SELECTED FOR NEW BUILD RICHMOND HOME
Thames & Newcastle has been appointed for the first phase of a £2.6m new-build residential project in Richmond, southwest London.
Working in partnership with Dyer Grimes Architecture, Thames & Newcastle will construct the shell and core of a 5,500 sq ft home spanning three storeys.
An existing property will be demolished to make way for the new dwelling, which will include a basement and extended living space at the rear. Traditional brickwork, timber windows and a slate roof will feature, complementing the local architecture.
Dan Ford, Construction Director at Thames & Newcastle, said: “This is a large home on a narrow plot surrounded by other properties, so will require careful logistical planning.
“Following the demolition of the existing building, we’ll excavate the site, creating a basement totalling around 1500 sq ft. This specialist work will be carried out by our in-house team to seamlessly integrate the basement construction into the wider programme.”
Work began on 20th October and is scheduled to take 78 weeks.
The project marks Thames and Newcastle’s third with Dyer Grimes Architecture. Recently completed projects include the £2.8m renovation of a seven-bedroom home in a Wimbledon conservation area, and the £6.3m transformation of an eight-bedroom home in Richmond, including an adjoining coach house and separate building housing a swimming pool.
